The Nokia N97 is only a couple of weeks old, but Nokia has already dropped a big firmware update that fixes a load of bugs with the Symbian OS.
The Nokia N97 is a quality phone, but it is fair to say that there are a few issues with the launch firmware. The latest firmware update arrived earlier this week from Nokia. The patch, which brings the N97’s Symbian OS up to 11.0.021
The update should automatically install over the air, although there are reports that on on-contract N97s will receive the update. Anyone with a SIM-free N97 will have to look on the Nokia website for a download and isntall via the Nokia Software Updater.
The update fixes a host of problems with the nokia N97 default firmware, incluidng USB charger detection, PC sync issues, inupt problems in the Facebook widget and some Java problems. The user interface should also be more responsive and – crucially – not degrade in performance when you load more pictures and music onto the phone.
