Having spent a day painting walls which was nowhere near as much fun as painting on the touch screen mentioned in the previous blog and painting in real life is messier. I have been reflecting on my time spent with ET who is currently on holiday in my daughter’s room out of the way of paint splashes.

I think this may be the ideal place for ET; it looks good, looks very tidy on her desk, no huge processor to house. She is incredibly happy and has been using her online time in a more creative way than with the usual computer where she plays mind numbing games, she is drawing, making cartoon creations and dressing ET, I am very proud!

You may have gathered by now I love this ET1602, from the moment I clicked on the link to see what the touch screen involved, if anything I think it is missing the ability to play DVDs, that would be my one reluctance as my poor child doesn’t have a TV in her room, having said that she hasn’t complained. Plus it’s easily mobile if it needs to be moved for any reason; yes I have threatened “Tidy your room or ET goes!”

And I would now choose it over a laptop for a child’s room purely for the ease of my quick scan of the screen to see who she was talking to or what she is doing I have been caught out a little by her shouting “I’m on webcam” as I move around, that translates to please don’t scare my friends or bring washing into my room. The other main benefit is that somehow they slouch around when using the laptop (obviously I’d never do that!) with the Eee top PC they have to sit up properly, oh no I am sounding old now.

The Eee cam has provided hours of entertainment although we haven’t been able to use it with MSN it’s entertaining enough to use on its own, the ability to make a person’s head disappear is still captivating, the video will follow, and auditions have been held for the best actor/actress to appear in the film. My attempt was said to resemble a nightmare – OUCH!  I managed to position myself so I had one eye, no nose and a very circular mouth, I did see her point.
