Sky Player, Sky’s online TV service for PC and Mac, will be streaming the entire Ashes series this Summer, and even better, for July and August, the whole shebang will be available completely free to Sky TV customers. Cricket fans unite and procrastinate!
The Ashes begin with the first test on Wednesday 8 July, but there’s good news for anyone chained to their desk by the 9 to 5: Sky Player will be showing it all, and for much cheaper than usual.
Any current Sky TV customers who take all the sports channels will be able to watch them on Sky Player for the next two months completely free, without having to subscribe to Sky Multiroom or Sky Broadband Unlimited.
Not got a satellite though? No worries. Sky’s reduced the Sky Player price for non-subscribers for the duration of the Ashes too. Until the end of August you can watch Sky Sports 1,2,3 Xtra and Sky Sports News on Sky Player for just £17 a month, half the usual price, and with a one-month minimum term, you can turn it right off as soon as Sky reverts to its usual programming of football, football and more football.
