A new version of Google Toolbar has just been released for Internet Explorer, and it comes with a handy new tool to automatically detect what language a webpage is in, and translate it on the spot with just one click!
Previously, the Google translate tool for Google Toolbar required you to pull up a drop down menu, but now it will immediately flag up what language the page is in and let you translate with one click.
The translate features in the new Google Toolbar are even smarter than that mind: continue surfing through pages in the same tongue and it’ll convert them all automatically, while pages with dynamic content are translated as and when the updates come through. The Google Toolbar will even recognise when you frequent the same pages, and translate them without even having to ask. Neat, no?
There is the irritating catch that the new translate features are available on the Internet Explorer Google Toolbar only, rather than on a browser that’s not painful to use, like Firefox 3.5, but hopefully we’ll be seeing the tool roll out to it too. It’s out to download now, and you can check out Google’s official blog post to see the full list of 41 supported languages.
