LG in Korea has announced a sparkling pair of high-end LCD TVs. The catchily-named 55LH93 and 55LH95 tellies are a mere 24.8 mm thick, but feature seven times the number of LEDs backlighting the picture than rival, edge-lit TVs.
The end result for lucky Koreans is that that’s seven times the lighting for a sharper, brighter, higher (5,000,000:1) contrast picture
The LG 55LH93 and 55LH95 55″ sets are also to feature WirelessHD technology to play HD content without rear-of-TV spaghetti junction, a 240Hz refresh rate and pricing from, breathe in, £3,400 or so.
No word yet on whether the 55LH93 or 55LH95 will also feature LG’s upcoming 3D TV tech. Probably, the answer to that one is: no.
