vuzix_iwear_av310Video goggles have been doing the rounds for a few years now, but we bet you haven’t seen any that are specifically designed for the iPhone 3GS, have you? Here’s pair though – the Vuzix iWear AV310, which provide a wearable 16:9 display right in front of your peepers.

Worn like regular glasses but with considerably less fashion appeal, the AV310s generate a virtual 52-inch screen as seen from a distance of nine feet. Furthermore, the AV310 is compatible with new 3D video formats, which bodes well for the future as Hollywood and screen makers are about to begin a major push towards 3D content.

The glasses are compatible with a huge number of devices including portable media players, video cameras, laptops and mobile phones; basically anything with a S-Video output. This time Vuzix has also included an iPod connector that’s compatible with the new iPhone 3GS.

They weigh around 115g and offer approximately six hours of viewing from a single AA battery.

Indeed, they have been around for a few years but are they any good? I’ve never seen any reviews… Anyone…

I can’t speak for this particular model, of course, but I have tried a couple in the past and the results were underwhelming to say the least. As for later models, I’d hope that the technology has evolved in the same way full sized screens have. Try before you buy would be my advice.
