Pentax has taken the wraps off its brand new Optio W80 digital camera. Its designed to be water-proof, dust-proof, cold-proof and shock-proof so you can happily lob it into the shallow end of a frozen lake without a care.
The Pentax Optio W80 can be dunked in water up to five metres deep, and you can shoot photos and video underwater. You can take it down to temperatures of -10 degrees Celcius, and drop it from a height of one meter.
With such stringent environmental hazard protection, you might think it’ll be wrapped up in a lead brick the size of your head, but actually the Pentax Optio W80 measures in at mere one-inch thick.
It has a 12.1-megapixel sensor, a 5X optical zoom with 28mm wide angle lens, HD video recording and 2.5-inch LCD screen. Features-wise, there’s Fast Face Detection, Super Macro and Shake Reduction. Sounds good? Then take a closer look at the super-tough W80 in the gallery above.
