Real’s new RealPlayer SP allows you to grab any videos from YouTube or any other streaming video site and stick them onto any handheld device of your choice. Want to know what else RealPlayer SP can do? Read on for the full low-down…
RealPlayer SP is RealPlayer’s next step in its evolution and has seen it become a bit of a media monster, boasting media managing skills, a web browser, music store (Rhapsody) and a games store (Real Arcade), on top of being a streaming video converter built for ripping from social media sites.
RealPlayer SP is especially built for grabbing videos for handhelds. The SP stands for Social/Portable for a reason. It’s rather handy for converting video to “less-recognized” or “obscure” devices like the Microsoft Zune. Older devices aren’t ignored but do require a little more manual work to get videos playing.
RealPlayer SP does have a few snags, though, with laggy conversion speed meaning conversion takes as long as the video to, er, convert. Otherwise it’s a handy tool for those who’ve had trouble getting music videos onto their device.
