Mass Effect, the space opera role-playing action game, could be about to get extra downloadable content for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and possibly PC. Despite Mass Effect 2 being in full production, the game’s developers BioWare are hinting that there will be an announcement imminently, and a pulled listing for Mass Effect on the Microsoft Xbox 360′s Xbox Live Games On Demand pages seems to confirm the news.
BioWare’s official Twitter feed has been updated to read: “Getting the feeling some news about the next ME1 DLC may be coming this week. Keep your eyes peeled.” At the same time, 360Sync, spotted a public listing for Mass Effect on Microsoft Xbox 360′s Games On Demand site, before it was pulled.
The listing refers to the game including “new systems and worlds to visit”. So far, the only downloadable expansion for Mass Effect, “Bring Down The Sky”, featured only one new world. Given that, the listing appears to imply that the Games On Demand version of Mass Effect will feature more additional content than just Bring Down The Sky.
Either way, if you’ve not played Mass Effect, then do so urgently – it’s one of the best action role-playing games out there. And a truly epic science fiction tale to boot.
Out now | £20 | Mass Effect (available for Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC at Game.co.uk)
