If you watched Top Gear last night did you notice old Jezza Clarkson was using a new white iphone when he was on the train?
also Apple fanboy Stephen Fry is giving the new iphone 3Gs the big thumbs up in his review of said phone in The Guardian.
is this just blatent Apple product placement?

  • Ben Sillis

Don’t ask me how I know, but one of Clarkson’s recent newspaper columns mentions he actually bought an iPhone himself so I don’t think it is in that case. As for Stephen Fry, I read the review and it was glowing, but it’s not really product placement, just a review. Every reviewer has their likes and dislikes, it just so happens that Stephen Fry is a notorious Apple addict, though I’d be interested to know if he had the new iPhone before it was unveiled.

When you say Clarkson bought an iphone did he really pay for it with his own cash, what I mean is big company’s give away their product free to high profile celebrity’s to get them noticed by joe public, for example Chris Moyles said he got the Xbox360 free when it first came out and blabbed on about how good it was on the radio.isn’t this a type of product placement advertising?.
