In a brief written statement released today, Steve Jobs spoke about the success of the iPhone 3G S launch, with more than one million units already sold. “Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning…With over 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever,” he said.
This is the first time Steve Jobs has commented in an Apple statement since he took a medical leave of absence back in January, and could be seen as the start of a gradual return to work – Apple has always said that Jobs was due to return to work at the end of June.
Over the weekend, it was reported by the Wall Street Journal that Jobs had a liver transplant several months ago, though no sources were given and Apple did not comment.
