The HTC Touch Pro 2 is now available for UK customers via Vodafone. The touch phone with the QWERTY slider is one of the first Windows Mobile 6.5 devices.
The HTC Touch Pro 2 looks, to the untrained eye, like a dead ringer for the Nokia N97. The slide-out keyboard of the Touch Pro 2, however, has its space bar where the Lord intended, rather than over to one side. This is possible because of extra real estate afforded by the whopping 3.6 inch WVGA screen.
We were impressed with the HTC Touch Pro 2’s build quality and high-quality speakerphone when we took a close look last week. The speakers are up to conference call quality, and the phone is sturdy and well constructed. You get all the standard mobile gubbins – GPS, 3G, camera and wifi. Runing Microsoft’s new Windows Mobile 6.5, the Touch Pro 2 also offers HTC’s own Touch Flo 3D user interface for easy app management via the touchscreen.
Vodafone is offering the HTC Touch Pro 2 on contract, from Free on up to £170.20.

Windows Mobile 6.5 is not due for release until September, although HTC have confirmed that upgrades to 6.5 will be available to Touch Pro 2 owners shortly after release of the new OS.
