Zune HD

We’re impressed with what we’ve seen so far of the OLED touchscreen Zune HD and its smooth graphics, and now we know what’s powering them: NVIDIA’s Tegra processor designed for dashing out HD video without breaking a sweat.

We’d heard whispers that the powerful Tegra chipset would be supported by the Windows Mobile Pink smartphone platform, but it looks like Microsoft could be jumping in to bed with NVIDIA before then. PC Perspective says it’s had confirmation from NVIDIA that the Zune HD does have Tegra inside.

Microsoft’s still keeping mum about what’s inside the Zune HD, but if Tegra is powering it, that spells out better battery life and better video playback, especially when the Zune HD is hooked up to a TV to play 720p. Oh, and full Flash support, a nice little bonus. Now, can we please have this Zune in the UK, Microsoft?
