The Olympus E-P1 retro styled Micro Four Thirds camera unveiled yesterday manages to pack a whole lot into its tiny Pen shell, including 720p video recording. Want to know how it works? The first video samples are up online, so read on to see them!
Photography site Four Thirds User was lucky enough to get hands-on with the Olympus E-P1 at the launch event in Berlin, and shoot a couple of videos at 720p, at a smooth 30fps. The results: more than promising for something so small.
Zooming works smoothly. The auto focus is a bit twitchy on occasion, but the same thing can be said for the bigger Panasonic Lumix GH1. The only downside? The Olympus E-P1 recoding in AVI file format, limiting you to seven minutes per clip. Still, if you can live with that, it’s a major bonus to have built inside a camera the size of the Olympus E-P1.
