The Olympus E-P1 is one of the smallest Micro Four Thirds cameras yet

The Olympus E-P1 Micro Four Thirds camera that leaked yesterday has just been made official, with spec confirmation aplenty for this retro beauty. Best of all though? You can place an order for one right now!

As expected, the Olympus E-P1 “digital Pen” (its looks draw from the classic Olympus Pen range) offers interchangeable lenses in a body the size of a compact, with a 12.3MP sensor, ISO 100-6400, SDHC slot, HDMI out and 720p video recording at 30fps.

Olympus E-P1 official photos leaked!

We’re still chasing Olympus UK for launch details, but it looks like you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on the Olympus E-P1. At least one vendor is already selling the Olympus E-P1 with a variety of different setups. The white or silver Olympus E-P1 with 14-42mm lens will set you back £699, while the same colours with a 17mm lens top out at £749, and you can get both kits with it for £849.

Considering the Olympus E-P1 measures just 121x70x36mm and stuffs a DSLR sized sensor inside, that price looks likely to make it the best value camera this year. We’ll know for sure when we get to grips with one in the UK.
