"I've never used a laptop before which has quite as good sound quality as this!"Other functions of the laptop do make it appealing toward the business user. It has an in-built 1.3-megapixel webcam, very useful for video-conferencing and video-calling. I tried this with a few of my friends, and found that even in lower light conditions the webcam performed surprisingly well. The Asus N80 also includes a fingerprint reader, which provides an extra level of security – a must nowadays with the amount of password bypassing programs available to hackers and the like.

A pretty snazzy feature is the inclusion of Dolby Home Theater speakers. The norm for laptop speakers is a tiny little thing stuck somewhere where it won’t get in the way and where there’s space left after the battery, etc, has been put into place. However, this laptop has four decent speakers, from which I have been playing music over the last couple of days quite happily – I’ve never used a laptop before which has quite as good sound quality as this!

I’ve also been making the most of the in-built Wifi connectivity – a must for any businessperson in today’s world. Signals are very strong from the internal antenna, with a full signal being received nearly 200ft away from my router, whereas my computer would only show half signal about 15 feet away from it! Connecting to a network is simple – it takes only 3 clicks of the mouse to connect (Start, Connect To, Wireless Network ****), and from there on internet browsing is a doddle!

You can sync your smartphone with the N80 to grab you calendar and Outlook email infoThere’s also Bluetooth in-built with the N80Vc. Most, if not all modern mobile phones which are used for business are equipped with Bluetooth for synchronising of calendar and Outlook email information, and so having Bluetooth connectivity on your laptop really means that you can be completely up-to-date whilst on the move. All that’s missing is a 3G datacard for truly portable, wireless operation! Saying that actually, it is one of the options available, and as there’s a spare PCI express slot, one can easily be added!

Overall, this laptop is absolutely packed full of features and is sure to cater for every need that a business user may require – I like to always be on the web and in touch whilst on the move, and this laptop ensures just that!

In my next blog post I’m going to be testing the battery life of the Asus N80Vc, and seeing just how well it fares up against competition. If you have anything you want me to look at or talk about, leave a comment and I’ll be happy to help!

Bye for now!
