Well I have to say I was dreading setting up the wireless connection for this laptop. When I tried to set up the fingerprint scanner the instructions turned out to be in Chinese. (OK, they weren’t, but they might as well have been considering how confused I was!) And so I was afraid that the instructions for setting up the wireless connection would be just as confusing. Plus the fact that my usual wireless access point is becoming increasingly temperamental meant that it looked like I had quite a task ahead…
Anyway, I had a quick look at my desktop and decided I would reach for my instruction manual once again. This looks complicated, I thought to myself, as I began to read.
Yet within a couple of minutes I had found the two keys to switch on wireless and Bluetooth, toggling between the two or I could choose both – very useful! I had also clicked on the icon near the clock to search for wireless networks, exactly as described/shown in instructions and was entering my password.
Voila! Internet connection granted!
I couldn’t believe how simple it had been, everything seemed geared towards this being simple but effective – this is definitely what this machine was made for.
While I’m here, I’d like to thank everyone for their comments so far – keep them coming!
In response to the questions from my first blog: the bamboo doesn’t get very hot – it has a fan in the side (nice little breeze on a hot day!) and although it has got to a warm temperature, it has never reached ‘hot’ in my opinion. I’ll keep you updated if it turns to firewood anytime soon though!
I think the finish will be very durable; it’s almost like a natural plastic. It looks and feels like wood but somehow feels very strong. Not sure about it getting wet though – don’t think I’ll be trying it!
I don’t have a laptop to compare to but I’m quite pleased with the battery power, at full charge the power gauge reads just over two hours but on light usage (not sure if you have a lot of programs running) it lasts much longer – I’ll try this out properly later.
And yes, I’m trying out the ASUS tech team in asking them about this fingerprint scanner – I have some suggestions from them and will let you know soon!
Next time: I’m going to look at how it fares when typing a lengthy document.
