The BlackBerry Tour is to launch in the United States in the ‘late summer’ on the Sprint and Verizon networks.
The BlackBerry Tour 9630 – the phone formally know as the BlackBerry Niagara 9630 – will be launching in the US in the next few months. The phone has been announced by both Sprint and Verizon networks via ‘sign up for more info’ forms on their websites.
The BlackBerry Tour was first spotted under its former name back in March, when leaked pics found their way to the web, as leaked pics tend to do. The phone is claimed to be the ‘fastest Sprint BlackBerry ever’ by Sprint, although we are yet to find any processor specs. The BlackBerry Tour should arrive with 3G, a 3.2 megapixel camera and GPS. Storage is expandable to 32GB via microSD/SDHC cards.
The BlackBerry Tour will cost around $199 once the user has claimed back a $150 rebate. No word on a UK release date, but the phone has been confirmed as having GSM support so hopefully should be with us soon.
