It's not all work, there's games too, like Adventure Under The Sea filled with not wanting to get eaten Nemo lookalikesThe trial continues although I have already been found guilty of eating Nemo, still keen to explore the ET1602 I had sneaky practice on the touch screen games which consist of Eee Band and Adventure under the sea, it was under the sea that caused the problem the game consists of a diver who you need to guide under the water collecting fish (including the Nemo look a like) whilst also avoiding the jelly fish, the scary looking electric fish which I thought looked like a swimming syringe and the very sweet seahorses.

The game makes good use of the touch screen but seems very basic in gameplay swimming along, catch or avoid fish Does anything else happen? different levels maybe? At this moment I don’t know due to scaring my daughter who cried “Don’t eat Nemo!” Too late the orange and white striped fish had already vanished although I tried to reason I hadn’t eaten him just caught him the fact he disappeared is a little suspicious. My plan to include a video for the moment is postponed, it’s a bit tricky to film and play I shall acquire a willing volunteer.  I have found a slight flaw with the trial, food, maybe if food parcels could be delivered daily to enable me to devote more of my time to testing out the lovely machine?

The Eee Band game doesn’t involve eating anyone, a series of circles appear on the screen and you have to tap them quickly to get thumbs up to get points, again a very simple game, personally I would prefer something a bit more random and challenging, a brain training type maybe, and a variety of puzzles. The Eee Band game does have a variety of levels, friendly looking characters but falls down on its repetitive nature possibly because we are used to DS type games where the stylus use is more demanding I do feel the games could be so much better even as additions to buy.

At the moment I am wondering who this PC is aimed at, as a family PC it works well it moves around easily although my eldest daughter complained that everyone could see the screen when she was on MSN, exactly I replied that’s why you are on it.

I like the layout of the ET1602 already when I go back to my laptop which has a 17” screen I feel huddled over it, the working environment with the ‘proper’ screen angled wherever you like is attractive but it lacks the fold up & stash away ability of the laptop.  Back to real life, need to bath the tortoise, until next time…
