MSI Wind

The MSI Wind has blown into our lives like a fearsome twister, Excuse us while we just nail some wood to all the office windows and cower in the basement waiting for a few cows to drop out the sky.

With a ten-inch screen, the MSI Wind is one of the larger netbooks doing the rounds, yet it still weighs in at a zephyr-like 1.3kg. The bigger screen is great for viewing videos on the move and it allows for a considerably wider keyboard than other mini laptops, which is great news if you type faster than Clark Kent.

You also get a reasonable 80GB storage – but that’s more than enough space to store all of your beloved Earth, Wind & Fire hits. Battery life meanwhile is a bit stingy at around 158 minutes.

The MSI Wind is powered, as most netbooks are, by an Intel 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, and while you may think that’s not going to win it any awards, it’s still one of the fastest netbooks around. And if you feel you need an extra bit of grunt, then just hit the Turbo-Boost button. It doesn’t launch your netbook into outer space or anything, but it does overclock the CPU to 1.9GHz! How about that then?

Overall then, the MSI WInd may look like an early Eee PC, but it’s been brewin up a storm all of its own. Both powerful and feature-packed, it makes computing on the fly an absolute breeze. See what we did there? Breeze? Wind? Oh, never mind…
