Geneva Labs XL

A huge great big black cube of a speaker on a stand is not exactly what you’d call discreet, but when you’ve got an iPod dock as good-looking as the Geneva Labs XL, you want to show it off.

Rolling out a pseudo-surround sound from its six speaker array, the Geneva Labs XL pumps out a whopping 600W of amplification that will literally blow you away! Nothing like the sit-on-the-fence Swiss capital that it’s named after, the Geneva XL is loud, brash and not scared of getting into wars. Okay, we just made up that last one, but it is loud and brash, thumping out some awesome, bassy sounds from your iPod. It’s like having the Ministry of Sound in your front room.

It doesn’t just free your iPod’s tunes though. The Geneva Labs XL also has an integrated CD player, radio and a 3.5mm line-in for other MP3 players. Whatever the source, the XL unleashes room-filling sounds! Seriously, this is the only iPod dock you’ll ever need. Which is a good thing, because once you’ve got it in your house you’ll never get it out again. This weighs a hernia-inducing 40kg!

The Geneva Labs XL is big too, and has been described as looking like a sexy, glossy-black, washing machine on a stick! The only other thing as big as the XL, apart from the sound, is the price. £1,500 for an iPod dock? That’s a point off right there!
