Samsung’s really upped its game with the LE40A856 – slimline, glossy and gorgeous, this full-HD 1080p LCD television has more sex-appeal than Tom Jones’ leather pants.
Like us, the Samsung LE40A856 isn’t just a pretty face. This 40-inch LCD packs in some of Samsung’s smartest TV technologies to date: namely 100Hz motion plus for images that are a million times less blurry than Noel Edmonds’ fuzzy face, and a host of media features (Wiselink Pro, InfoLive, Contents Library and DLNA connection that lets you access media content from various sources) to boot.
But that’s just words. And a picture paints a thousand words. So what’s the picture like? Well, Samsung’s hit on a winning combination of blazing colours, silky smooth motion and pin-sharp detail. The full-HD performance is nothing short of stunning here, and you’ll be able to hook up plenty of Hi-Def sources, too, thanks to the four HDMI ports Sammy’s helpfully provided. The black levels aren’t exactly as black as a black hole, but then most LCD televisions’ can’t reproduce that sort of contrast level anyway.
Sound quality is excellent too, with the speakers blaring out some bassy audio, whether you’re listening to music, dialogue or some ear-melting yelling from Peggy Mitchell on Eastenders.
The Samsung LE40A856 is a fantastic full-HD television then, with exquisitely blur-free images, top-notch sound quality and the looks to match.
