Let’s not beat about the bush here. Yesterday was Apple‘s day and no-one else’s. Steve Jobs wasn’t on hand, but the Cupertino company kicked things off in style at WWDC with a brand new iPhone and a whole lot more. Catch up with it all right here in techie breakie!
Phil Schiller took to the stage to talk about Macs first. It’s only been a few months since the last MacBook refresh, but that hasn’t stopped Apple beavering away. There was no 3G in sight still, but we got a brand new 15 inch MacBook Pro, and a 13 inch MacBook that’s just as powerful, plus an updated MacBook Air.
Skipping on to software, Apple unveiled Snow Leopard in detail, and we took a look at all the new features on offer – including the unbeatable price. Next up iPhone OS 3.0 followed, with some incredible new features including Find My Phone to track it when lost, and several new iPhone apps, including ones from Zipcar and – yes – TomTom.
But Apple saved the best ’til last: the new iPhone, the iPhone 3G S. It’s faster than ever before, with a better camera and video recording, and we’ve got a gallery of official photos of it up already for your peepers to pry on. It’s out on 19 June, but Apple hasn’t forgotten about the iPhone 3G: it’ll still be on sale, and it’s now cheaper than ever!
