The Samsung i8000 – aka the Omnia 2 – has had its precious specs leaked all over the internet, and very nice it looks too.
The Samsung i8000 is still officially under wraps, but a careless online retailer in Lithuania may have leaked the details of the successor to the Omnia i900. Contrary to previous rumours, this Omnia will be rocking Windows Mobile, not Android, or even Symbian OS.
According to the leak, the Ominia i8000 will sport a 3.7 inch WVGA resistive touchscreen (not an OLED like the Omnia Pro, alas) and will come equipped with an 8.1 megapixel camera with duel LED flash and video recording at 30 frames per second. The usual 3G, Bluetooth and wifi are complemented by native DivX for playing movies on that nice big screen.
The leak suggests that Windows Mobile 61 will be the OS of choice, with a free upgrade (over the air?) to Windows Mobile 6.5 as soon as that is available. The Omnia i8000 will also come with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz 3D interface.

Hey I saw on some other sites that it WILL come with an OLED display…. I don’t know since this thing is so new and hot!
The Omnia name is reserved for WinMo devices (hence the i8910 HD instead of Omnia HD).
If it’s called Omnia, it’s paid the Windows Tax.
