iriver is better known for its polished PMPs than satnav skills, but the iriver M7 NV looks to marry the two together in one of the best looking maps in a box we’ve ever seen. Mio Navman better hurry that Freeview satnav up!
With a screen that big hogging the windscreen, you’d expect some form of navigation, and though iriver doesn’t go into detail, the iriver M7 NV Classic does offer 2D top down mapping and 3D lane guidance to stop you getting lost.
But the iriver M7 NV Classic’s real USP is its media playing abilities. You probably shouldn’t be playing with these options when driving, but the iriver M7 NV Classic will dish out MP3, WAV, OGG and WMA music files, and MPEG, WMV and Xvid videos to help keep whoever is riding shotgun shut up.
Just to make sure you’re safe though, iriver keeps maps on a separate SDHC card, so you won’t be able to load them while using GPS. However, you will still be able to use the TV tuner built into the iriver M7 NV Classic. Sadly, like many of iriver’s most beautiful media boxes, it’s South Korea only for the moment, so it won’t be troubling TomTom just yet.
