The Palm Pre finally hit the US market on Saturday and seems to be selling well. Early adopters got a surprise on day one, however – the first OS update for their new phone.
The Palm Pre received the first update to webOS on its launch day, released before most of the purchasers had even got their devices home with them. The update takes the operating system up to version 1.0.2.
Although the Palm Pre seems to be fairly well received, a number of reviewers noticed some stability issues, with the OS suffering occasional crashes and – in some cases – erasing user data and requiring a full restore.
webOS 1.0.2 is said to greatly improve stability and – just so you don’t think that this is Palm panicking or anything – adds a few niceties like a new alarm clock app. The update is about 67MB and is available over the air to Sprint customers in the US.
