Nokia just put the Nokia N86 page live on its site, suggesting the first eight-megapixel mobile from the Finnish phone maker will ship almost back to back with the Nokia N97.
In case you’re in need of a quick recap, the Nokia N86 is Nokia’s first phone with an 8MP Carl Zeiss lens, and the first with a variable aperture, so it’s set to be a serious sharp shooter when it launches. And that should be soon: Nokia’s put the official support pages for the Nokia N86 live on its site, meaning shipping can’t be too far off. There aren’t any surprises (GPS and 8GB of storage are on board as expected) but if you’re a Nokia fan jealous of all those Sony Ericsson Cyber-shotters, you needn’t be green much longer.
Don’t expect the Nokia N86 before the all singing, all dancing Nokia N97 goes on sale on 19 June, but the posting does suggest that the Nokia N86 has suffered only a slight delay (we were told it was due in June back at Mobile World Congress). We’re chasing Nokia now for confirmation, but cellphone snappers watch out: it looks like this one is set to clash head to head with the Samsung Pixon12.
