HTC promised all things with the HTC Touch Pro2 when it was unveiled at Mobile World Congress earlier this year: one of the first Windows Mobile 6.5 phones, a business mobile that does power emailing like a BlackBerry and multimedia like an iPhone via the dazzling touchscreen. Has it lived up to expectations? Come see for yourself in our unboxathon!
If you’re confused as to what the HTC Touch Pro 2 is doing so soon after the HTC Touch Diamond2, let’s have a quick recap: the HTC Touch Pro2 is similar in that it’s a Windows Mobile phone with a touchscreen (A huge 3.6 inch, WVGA number), and HTC TouchFLO 3D interface, but it stands out by offering a powerful pop out keyboard for blitzing out messages. Wi-Fi, HSDPA and GPS are all accounted for too.

Unboxing the HTC Touch Pro2, we’re impressed by the build and look – for the most part. It’s quite easy to miss the hinge mechanism: while useful, it’s not built nearly as well as the Nokia N97, and actually puts the phone off balance on a flat surface.
From our quick tests, the camera works a treat, but the best feature we’ve tried by far is the speakerphone. As promised, flipping over the HTC Touch Pro2 kicks it into speakerphone mode: it’s loud and clear, making it an ideal phone for conference calls. Enough jibber jabber from us though, check out the HTC Touch Pro2 close up in our gallery!
