Google Street View has already led to nationwide procrastination and mobs with pitchforks, but getting around on the Maps feature has been more than a little finickety. until now that is: Google’s just brought in a brand new way to get around the virtual roads. What does it call it? Er, pancake.
Hit up Google Street View right now and you’ll find that the navigation system’s been revamped. Now when you move your cursor across the photos, you’ll see a circle (The pancake in question) which will pull you to that spot with a double click – or move you to the spot where Google Street View thinks you’ll get the best view.

Move the cursor on to buildings in Google Street view meanwhile and it’ll turn into a vertical rectangle which will pull you up to a house or shop front and turn you to face it. The change doesn’t sound like much, but try it for yourself and you’ll see it’s much quicker to turn and face anything (Or even hop to the other side of a river) as you no longer need to drag, and drag, and drag.
