Asus Eee Top goes 1080pAsus unveiled two new Eee Top models at Computex in Taiwan this week, the Eee Top ET20 and Eee Top ET22 all-in-one desktops, and this time, they’re sporting HD screens.

We liked where Asus was going with the touchscreen budget Eee Top range when we tested them out last year, but our main gripe was the low resolution screen. Asus has fixed that now though with two new, bigger Eee Top PCS.

First up is the Asus Eee Top ET20, a 20 inch version that ditches the Fisher-Price white plastic look of the old range, and whacks in 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive dual core Atom 330 processor, HDMI output and a 1600×900 screen capable of 720p HD video.

Asus Eee Top first impressions

Even better though its the Asus Eee Top ET22, which squishes inside a 22 inch shell an Intel Core Duo T6599 CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD, Blu-ray, ATI HD4570 graphics, HDMI input and a 1920×1080 screen for full HD viewing. There’s no price on this high end Asus Eee Top just yet, but don’t expect it to come as cheap as previous versions. Is it enough to throw away your TV? We’ll know once one surfaces in the West.

I am a bit dubious about the new all in one computers, I feel they are just trying to copy the Apple imac they look flash and modern but I think the specs are not that good for the price. If I had to buy an all in one computer I would just pay the extra and buy the 24” imac which is I think the best all in one computer at the moment you have got OSX and if you want will run Windows OS.

Poppa_P, except Asus build the latest imacs. Asus is Apples contract manufacturer. Don’t believe the Apple PR totally. Ok so the Asus ET22 has a 2inch smaller screen than the 24inch imac and no OSX. But you gain a touch screen, full HD with blueray to name but a few extra features.
What you are getting is essentially an imac for approx £750 with arguably more features!
