T-Mobile logoT-Mobile is to follow up the world’s first Android smartphone – the G1 – by launching their second Android phone this summer, according to reports.

T-Mobile kicked off the Android revolution with the launch of the G1 Google Phone. Although HTC’s follow-up to the G1, the HTC Magic – was snapped up by Vodafone in the UK, we know that T-Mobile has several new Android phones lined up for release this year.

The news service Reuters has apparently received an email from T-Mobile ocnfirming that the first of these devices will be appearing this Summer. Will this be the new Android device from Motorola – the dully-named Motorola Morrison? The Samsung Bigfoot is another option that has been churned though the rumour mill.

Another, rather enticing possibility is that the ‘Summer’ launch will coincide with HTC‘s big 24 June announcement we told you about yesterday. The HTC Hero (assuming that is what will be announced) would make an excellent follow up to the G1, addressing many of the problems with the earlier handset. Either way, we shouldn’t have too long to wait before we find out.
