A black Nintendo Wii and red Nintendo DSi have just been unveiled in Japan for anyone who fancies making their gaming experience a bit more colourful, even when the power’s off. Where have you guys been hiding for the last two and half years?
Nope, this isn’t a third party dollop of paint, it’s an official, black Nintendo Wii that’s presumably been chained up in the loft since 2006. Still, it’s nice to see the black Nintendo Wii out in the open at last, and that a diet of fishheads hasn’t made it lose any gloss. There’s a whole range of noir peripherals to go with the black Nintendo Wii, including a Wiimote, nunchuk and classic controller. Expect the whole black bunch to hit Japan from 1 August, with the console tagged for ¥25,000 (£160).
Nintendo’s also outed a red Nintendo DSi to go with the black, white, pink, green and blue versions out in the land of the rising sun, for the same sum of ¥18,900 (£120) the others would set you back over yonder. Said red Nintendo DSi is out in Japan from 7 July if you’ve got importing know how.
We’re chasing Nintendo UK for details of a European release for the black Nintendo Wii and red Nintendo DSi, but in browse through our gallery in the meantime and help them adjust to life in the light.
