HTC Snap on sale in UK now

htc_snapBeen waiting anxiously for the HTC Snap? Someone?  Well, it’s here, so get your peepers over to Devicewire where the first UK batch appears to have landed. Never heard of it? Well, to be honest, neither have we; HTC Snap has kind of snuck up on us (probably should have been called the HTC Boo!), but that doesn’t mean it’s not one tasty looking smartphone handset.

With obvious BlackBerry Bold leanings, the QWERTY candy bar handset packs a Qualcomm MSM 7225, 528 MHz processor, HSDPA connectivity, with additional Wifi, a 2.4” LCD screen and weighs in at 120g.

You can expect to get 300 minutes talk time out of a single charge and up to 480 standby. Memory storage is handled by microSD and it’s compatible with a wide range of audio formats. There’s no 3.5mm jack, however.

If you’re down with the HTC Snap’s hardware design, then the only downside we can see is the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. Apart from all the exciting developments on the Android front (especially from HTC), a new iPhone coming very soon and Symbian S60 5th edition looking very tasty, WinMo 6.5 is only just around the corner.

There is one other thing of note: HTC’s Inner Circle feature, which automatically sorts messages from a chosen group of people to the top of your inbox, so you never miss an important meeting change amidst layers of beleagured Tansanian royal family members seeking help in reclaiming their lost fortunes.

You can pick up the HTC Snap now for 289.99 including VAT.
