Wii Vitality Sensor to help you sleep?UPDATE: Want a closer look at Nintendo’s Vitality Sensor? Feast your peepers! We’ve rounded up all the official Wii Vitality Sensor photos for your gawping pleasure!

Play games all day? Don’t buy this then: Nintendo just announced Wii Vitality Sensor, a bizarre add on for the Wii that measures the “inner world” of your body, and can even help you sleep. No, really.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president, just took to the stage at the E3 keynote to unveil the next step after Wii Speak and Wii MotionPlus: Wii Vitality Sensor. We don’t know for sure what it does, or when it’s out, but it looks like it measures your pulse from your finger.

Iwata went on to say that Wii Vitality Sensor will even help you “achieve greater relaxation”. How you can do that strapped up to a Wii peripheral is anyone’s guess, but time will tell.
