Wii Sports Resort just got demoed at E3, and if you thought the first one was mundane, the intro of this one alone will change your mind – skydiving style!
Wii Sports Resort, which makes use of the Wii MotionPlus add on, has been no secret, but Nintendo demoed some of the activities you can expect to play on the island just minutes ago, and they’re simply astounding.
The new add on makes archery in Wii Sports Resort a seriously precise task, but even better: you start the game by jumping out of a plane. You can spin the player around with deft rotation of the Wiimote, making elegant formations, and you’ve got to remember to open the parachute in time. Nintendo didn’t show what happens to the Mii if you don’t.
Basketball is also headed to Wii Sports Resort, and Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime tested it out on stage – there’s a lot of accuracy involved if you want to bag those three pointers. We were stunned by Microsoft’s Project Natal for Xbox 360 yesterday, but Wii Sports Resort alone means motion sensing isn’t a one horse race still.
Out 24 July | £TBC | Nintendo
