Tiscali TV just got a new HD EPG, like the Sky+ EPG. Here’s the thing though: why is Tiscali rolling this out if it only pipes through standard def telly? We put it to Tiscali TV, so read on to find out what it had to say!
Tiscali TV launched a new widescreen HD EPG for the service which will kick in from 10 June. The Tsicali TV HD EPG now shows the menu in gorgeous hi-res, with more programs visible at once, and a new icon bar at the bottom offering up easy access to options. Tiscali TV search has also been improved, letting you scan for words in program titles, credits and synopses.
But if the Tiscali TV EPG is going HD, won’t that jar with the SD programs it slings through your telephone wiring? We pressed Tiscali TV on its plans, and a spokesperson told us that HD programming “is something [we're] looking into, but can’t confirm anything at the moment.”
So, HD content is on the cards for Tiscali TV subscribers. If you count among them, you can get a taster of what’s to come when the HD EPG appears next week.
Out 10 June | £TBC | Tiscali
