NVIDIA Tegra HD machines break coverA whole slew of NVIDIA Tegra powered tablets, netbooks and mobile devices have just been unveiled at Computex in Taiwan, promising 1080p video playback for hours on end. Next stop, phones!

We’ve been looking forward to the NVIDIA Tegra computer-on-a-chip for some time, as it promises stunning graphics in even the dinkiest of gadgets, and now the first machines have arrived, going on show at Computex in Taiwan.

We’ve already seen a fanless Eee PC this week, but the NVIDIA Tegra set up is another low power option with even better graphics: as well as dealing out GPU accelerated flash animation (Watching HD YouTube, check), it’ll dish out 46fps gaming, and full HD video. Oh, and the devices with NVIDIA Tegra baked in can burn for 10 hours on a single charge, even with 3G, Wi-Fi or WiMax flicked on. Neat, eh?

On display at Computex were a dozen netbooks and tablets from the likes of Wistron and Pegatron, and the verdict so far has been very positive. No, none of the gizmos on show are headed to the UK just yet, but bear in mind NVIDIA Tegra could play a big part in that rumoured Microsoft Pink smartphone, making it capable of higher res playback than even the Zune HD.

Oh, if you still need a bit of convincing, check out what the NVIDIA Tegra platform is capable of in the video below.
