Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr introduce The Beatles Rock BandThe countdown to The Beatles Rock Band has well and truly begun. Today Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr took to the stage as it was demoed at E3, with Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, wives of the late John Lennon and George Harrison also making an appearance.

The launch formed the opening act of Microsoft’s E3 show, with a live demonstration of The Beatles Rock Band showing it working with multiple guitars, vocal harmonies and drums. Microsoft also underlined the game’s launch date: 09.09.09. It’s going to be a psychedelic summer and no mistake.

Giles Martin, the son of The Beatles producer George Martin also made an appearance, explaining that all tracks in The Beatles Rock Band have been remastered to give gamers the “best experience” possible. The game also includes never before heard studio chat from the entire band.

The tracks included in the game are:

  • I Saw Her Standing There
  • I Want to Hold Your Hand
  • I Feel Fine
  • Day Tripper
  • Taxman
  • I Am The Walrus
  • Back in the USSR
  • Octopus’s Garden
  • Here Comes The Sun
  • Get Back

When asked what he thought of the game by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr said: “The game is good… I like the way I walk.” Before prancing across the stage.
