lastfm-xbox-liveMicrosoft’s made another step forward in turning the Xbox 360 into a true media hub, adding Last.fm, Facebook and Twitter access to the console. You’re about to stay a lot more glued to your sofa!

Announced today at E3, Microsoft’s updating the Xbox 360’s dashboard to include Last.fm (free to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers), as well as updates from Facebook and Twitter.

facebook-xbox-liveAs you’d expect, it’ll let you enjoy music in the living room streamed directly from the web, as well as showing your Xbox Live and Facebook friends all at once.

A new “Friend Linker” feature will let you combine your buddies from the two social networks, and invite them to play games with you.

Not content with all that? How about Twitter too? Microsoft’s building in Twitter support for the Xbox, so you can post tweets and see updates live on your TV.

Nice of you to catch up Microsoft. PS3 owners have enjoyed all these services in since launch…

I remember the days when the Xbox fanboys used to criticise the PS3 for having non-gaming features like these, but now that Microsoft have finally caught on, it’s OK??

All this demonstrates is how naive and hypocritical Xbox fanboys are. (Including certain Electric Pig “editors”).
