Halo: Reach could be the next game set in the hugely-successful Halo universe (for Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC). Halo’s creators Bungie, may have inadvertently revealed the existence of the game in updating forums on its official site.
Despite the Halo: Reach forum only existing for a very short space of time, enterprising fans started a thread on Bungie’s forums about the possibility of it being the next Halo game. That thread, and the Halo: Reach forum, have since been swiftly removed by Bungie, but a cache of it is available at Skoar!
Of course, Halo: Reach may be just a working title for something Bungie was up to. But further evidence that Halo: Reach might be real comes from the official 2001 novel “Halo: The Fall Of Reach”, a book prequel to the original Halo: Combat Evolved game.
Kotaku also points out that Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft Game Studios, hinted that there were at least four Halo games in active development last year: Halo: ODST, the Peter Jackson-linked Halo Chronicles and the already-out realtime strategy game Halo Wars.
Could the fourth be Halo: Reach. And will it be worth five minutes of extra time at tonight’s Microsoft E3 press conference? More will be revealed soon… hopefully.
