Sky Player, Sky’s online on-demand and live TV streaming service, could soon be headed to the company’s set top boxes, as well as Xbox LIVE. Read on to find out how we know.
Sky Player has only just been announced for the Xbox 360, but Sky just let slip that it’s headed to Sky boxes as well, meaning that you’ll be able to get on demand shows on your Sky+ rig, even without having to remember to record a show in the first place.

Sky’s commercial group director Stephen Nuttall has gone on the record to say that “Sky Plus boxes all come with an Ethernet port on the back which we will use in the future to access content on demand to compliment Sky Plus,” which hints at Sky Player. But Pocket-lint also has it from an insider that a”big” offering is in the works, with many more than the current 500 films currently in the Sky Player catalogue to be made available to pick and choose at your leisure.
There are no official details just yet, but we’ll keep our eyes to the skies for more on the Sky Player coming to Sky boxes across the land’s living rooms.
