LG just dropped two new phones with social network skills to rival the INQ1, the LG GW520 and the LGT GT505. Who needs invisible keypads when you can find out if you’ve been hit with a virtual frisbee via push updates?
LG’s been busy of late pushing out stunning touchscreen multimedia and, er, see through phones, but if you’re all about texting, emailing, IMing and Facebook poking, these two new LG mobiles could be right up your street.
First up we’ve got the LG GW520, a 2.8-inch touchscreener with a slide out QWERTY keypad for power emailing. It’s down with HSDPA and slots in a 3MP camera around the back.
Next up is the LG GT505, LG’s phone come PND, similar to the Nokia 6710 Navigator. There’s no physical keypad this time, but a 3-inch touchscreen HSDPA, a 5MP camera, Wi-Fi and GPS for turn by turn navigation with WisePilot.
Both LG blowers boast push email, just like a BlackBerry, but best of all, LG says they’ll offer push updates for social networking sites, like iPhone OS 3.0, so you’ll know when people post pictures of you online or update their status.
Unfortunately, LG hasn’t confirmed which social networks will be supported just yet. We’re chasing it for details, but you can bet Facebook will be up at the top of the list. Will Twitter follow though? Expect an update shortly.
Out June | £TBC | LG
