Look, it’s the Samsung N310! Is it a swim float? Is it a bar of soap? Nope: it’s a netbook, and one of the most striking we’ve seen yet. We’ve just got hands on with it so come meet and greet it in our gallery and find out what we think!
The crowded netbook market could do with a shake up now and again, and since the Samsung N310 was unveiled a few months ago, it’s done just that, with the colourful shell winning you over in our poll.
Samsung N310: all the official photos
Now that the Samsung N310 is sitting on our desk at last, we can say that simply gripping and looking at the surreally shaped netbook is a joy. The visual improvement isn’t just on the outside of the Samsung N310 though: the screen is a dazzling edge to edge number that far outshines the Eee PC 1008HA Seashell‘s.
Samsung has also seen fit to switch to a chiclet style keyboard for the Samsung N310 and it works a charm: touch typing is almost blissful, and it feels incredibly spacious for a 10.1 inch netbook.
Unfortunately these little bumps come at a cost. You’re going to have to fork out £379 for a Samsung N310, with an otherwise bog standard Atom 270 processor, 1GB of RAM and 160GB HDD. That’s going to feel like a high price when you realise a similarly specced but blander looking Dell Mini 10v comes in under £200, but have a look in our hands on gallery and see if all the flair in the Samsung N310 is worth the extra dough.
