Metal Gear Solid 5Metal Gear Solid 5 is on the way, if images that have surfaced on the official Kojima Productions “Next” teaser website and alongside an interview with Hideo Kojima in Japanese magazine Famitsu are to be believed.

The Metal Gear Solid Next website countdown has reset to end on Sunday, just before the start of E3 in Los Angeles, the world’s largest videogames trade show – and where Kojima and Konami were widely expected to launch the next Kojima Productions game.

The Next website, alongside featuring an image of what looks like Big Boss from the Metal Gear Solid series, as well as more rain and lightning flashes and the letters R and P.

Meanwhile, scans that Kotaku have, from influential Japanese magazine Famitsu, show not only Big Boss (also mentioned in the accompanying, mostly redacted, interview), but also pictures of Raiden, also from the Metal Gear Solid series.

Raiden also means thunder and lightning in Japanese – fitting neatly with the gloomy weather-heavy Kojima Productions teaser site.

Either way, it now looks more likely that Kojima’s next game is Metal Gear Solid 5, not Lords Of Shadow. All should hopefully be revealed by next Monday!
