Metroid Prime is making its way to the Nintendo Wii. All three Metroid Prime games will appear as the single-disc title, Metroid Prime Trilogy.
Metroid Prime brought 3D first-person blasting to the Metroid series of alien hunting games and was a huge hit on the Gamecube, along with its sequels. Now Nintendo Wii owners are going to get a dose of Morph Ball action with the launch of Metroid Prime Trilogy.
Metroid Prime Trilogy will cram all three episodes – Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime: Corruption – onto one disc, adding motion controls and some extras to the games to give them a more modern feel. In addition to the new controls, Metroid Prime Trilogy will have an achievement system, support for widescreen displays and an in-game reward system that will let you upgrade Samus’ equipment and stats.
The revamped Metroid Prime comes courtesy of original developers, the now appropriately-named Retro Studios. Japanese gamers have had teh chance to play the first game in the series on their Wiis since the beginning of the year but the trilogy edition marks the first time Metroid 2 & 3 will be available on the new console.
