The Panasonic Lumix GH1 launched in the UK yesterday, and while we’ve already got hands-on with the Micro Four Thirds shooter, we thought we’d give you a quick demo of its HD video skills. Come and see!
Like the G1 before it, the Pansonic Lumix GH1 is a fantastic hybrid camera with interchangeable lenses. it fires still shots off at 12.1 megapixels, but what’s big news is that this time round, you can film AVCHD video at 25fps in 1080p, or even 50fps in still crispy 720p.
You can see what we shot with a pre-production Panasonic Lumix GH1 in HD in the video below, shot on a sunny day by the banks of the Thames in Windsor. As you can see, it looks great, although auto focus is a bit over eager. You’ll need to hit the HD button, or click through to see in full screen hi-res.
If you really want the full effect of just how stunning the HD video on a Pansonic Lumix GH1 is though, a professional filmmaker has already made two short films with it that make great 720p slow motion. You can see online here and here: they’re jaw shatteringly beautiful, if a lofty target to aim for when the Pansonic Lumix GH1 ships next month.
