An Apple Mac OS X netbook has popped up for sale online, even though Cupertino has yet to unveil one. Will this be the first of many?

We knew the infamous Mac clone Psystar was planning something along the lines of a Mac netbook, but Russian company RussianMac has beaten it – and Apple – to be the first out with a Mac netbook, the potentially copyright infringing MiniBook.

Yes, this Mac netbook is just a 10inch white box netbook with Apple’s Mac OS X installed and fairly standard specs (1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), but RussianMac boasts it packs a battery life of up to 8 hours, so for 19,200 rubles (£385), we’ll take that over a fiddly Hackintosh any day.

Is this the Apple netbook?

Apple won’t be pleased about this, especially if it is planning on unveiling a Mac netbook or tablet at Apple WWDC next month, and since it’s so far failed to shut US based Psystar down, don’t expect the RussianMac MiniBook to be going anywhere anytime soon. Now, who’s going to be the first to risk ordering one?

    That looks suspiciously like an ASUS Eee PC in the picture – you can still see the Windows key. So, not only Apple will be after them but Asus too, another other ‘A’ companies being swiped? What about Acer?

    Somehow I doubt RussianMac will be too fussed. Apple can’t even shut down Psystar, and it’s in the same country. Unless these are going to be sold with pictures of Vladimir Putin wearing a dress on the box, sitting on a gagged and bound politics reporter, I doubt it’ll be going anywhere soon, even with Asus potentially on its back.
