Dell just showed off Android running on a Dell Mini 10v netbook. Could it be about to launch a version with Google’s OS installed?

We love the bare bones, ultra cheap Dell Mini 10v in its current Linux or Windows forms, but it could be about to get even better: Dell just released a video showing off Android (Cupcake, to be precise) running on it, just to tease us.

Sadly we just see the classic Android clock face in the Dell Mini 10v demo, but does this mean the company is looking into providing this as an OS option in future? We’d love to see the Dell Mini 10v rocking Android and a touchscreen for quick start up and internet access.

Dell says there are “no announced plans” to release an Android Dell Mini 10v netbook, but that certainly doesn’t rule one out in the near future, does it? Check out the video of the Android Dell Mini 10v below and see for yourself.

When I imagine an Android netbook/tablet, I imagine it including typical smartphone hardware (touchscreen, 3G, GPS, accelerometer, compass, etc.) and supporting cell phone calls and SMS. This new category of netbook/tablet would support functionality that is not even possible, with the current netbooks & desktop operating systems.
