We’ve already seen an OLED car on show, but here’s something EDAG forgot to add: an OLED steering wheel. Just make sure to keep your eyes on the road!
Developed by German research association CARO, the OLED steering wheel takes the longstanding tradition of having a car maker’s logo in the centre and takes a complete U turn. Why have a plastic emblem when you can have an OLED screen that lights up with the logo on ignition, or pop up traffic alerts as and when?

Because OLED is so thin, and even flexible, it won’t come at any cost to space for the airbag, so any motor that uses the OLED steering wheel is as safe as houses, or other cars at least.
With the auto industry on its knees, who knows when we’ll see the OLED steering wheel go mainstream, but it’s going on display at a tradeshow in Taiwan next month, so hopefully some buyers will bite.
