LittleBigPlanet for the Sony PS3 (and PSP this year) is to get downloadable content updates from a series of famous graphic artists. Mike Mignola, creator and artist for the Hellboy comics, as well as John Burgerman who worked on Sony PSP game WipEout Pure, and 2000AD artists are already scheduled to produce levels and items for download into LittleBigPlanet.
In an interview with Edge, LittleBigPlanet’s art director Kareem Ettouney has laid out future downloadable content plans for LittleBigPlanet – the revolutionary Sony PS3 platform game where users can create their own levels or download other users’ levels. As well as Mignola, Burgerman and a 2000AD sticker pack, Ettouney lists Parisian Claire Wendling as another graphic artist signed up to the game.
Also in the pipeline are historical background and character packs, a monster character pack and downloadable content that adds “functionality. There are things that the users have been really asking about for a long time and we wanted to give them some new functionality and that will just generate a whole new heap of gameplay possibilities.”
